Pure good fortune led me to Rangala House and how fortunate I felt as I stepped onto the terrace to behold one of the best vistas in Sri Lanka. My days trekking with cardamom gatherers in the Knuckles, my wanderings through the tea plantations, punctuated by cold beers and cathartic conversations on the verandah - all remembered with fondness. My only complaint - that I couldn't stay for a week longer!

This former tea planter's bungalow ensconced on a steep forested hillside contains three double rooms, each with attached bath, plus large living and dining room with a fireplace. A large swimming pool on the premises is solar-heated.

Boutique guest house in a beautiful location up in the Knuckles range, fifty minutes's drive from Kandy and very convenient for the nearby Victoria Golf Club. The atmosphere is very homely - it's more like staying in someone's country house than in paying accommodation.

A beautifully renovated plantation bungalow built around 100 years ago. The original building has been enhanced by opening up one side to take advantage of the stunning views across mountain valleys down toward Kandy. The three spacious guestrooms are stylishly furnished and have attached bathrooms. A small team of locally recruited staff and the charming owners are on hand to ensure your stay is thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing, and can suggest a range of local excursions such as mountain bike routes, or a sunset picnic high in the tea plantation that surrounds the house. Standing in cleverly landscaped gardens with a refreshing swimming pool.
